StopTheMadness is a Safari extension that enhances your browsing experience by preventing websites from hindering your browser functionality, while also safeguarding your online privacy. One of the key benefits of StopTheMadness is its ability to re-enable essential user interface features that are often deliberately disabled by certain websites in Safari.  <li>Removing tracking tags such as utm_source, gclid, and fbclid from the end of URLs.</li>
 <li>Stopping clickjacking on popular platforms like Google Search, Gmail, Facebook, and DuckDuckGo.</li>
 <li>Disabling hyperlink auditing by removing the anchor "ping" attribute on link clicks.</li>
 <li>Blocking tracking beacons (Navigator.sendBeacon).</li>
 <li>Preventing sites from using the Page Visibility API to track tab visibility.</li>
 <li>Stopping URL shorteners by loading the unshortened destination URL instead of the shortened one. This process ensures zero site data tracking or cookie setting.</li>
</ul>

StopTheMadness goes beyond these primary features and provides additional bonus functionalities:

 <li>Stopping video autoplay on websites, even on platforms like YouTube where Safari fails to stop autoplay.</li>
 <li>Automatically skipping video ads on YouTube.</li>
 <li>Preventing sites in Safari from pausing audio playing in background apps, such as Apple Music.</li>
 <li>Enabling native video controls and Picture-in-Picture mode on sites that don't natively support it, including YouTube.</li>
 <li>Dynamic adjustment of web video speed for faster or slower playback.</li>
 <li>Automatic selection of video quality on YouTube.</li>
 <li>Eliminating annoying popup banners urging you to download certain apps from Google, Google Maps, DuckDuckGo, IMDb, Quora, Reddit, and Tumblr. It also hides "Sign in with Google" banners on all sites.</li>
 <li>Font replacement feature to substitute one font for another on web pages, offering a more visually pleasing experience.</li>
 <li>Ability to add custom CSS and JavaScript to specific web pages for further customization.</li>
 <li>Custom URL redirects, such as redirecting new Reddit to old Reddit or Twitter to Nitter, giving users complete control over their browsing experience.</li>
 <li>Bypassing keyboard page zoom to prevent unwanted zooming when using the software keyboard.</li>
 <li>Enabling pinch-to-zoom on websites that disable this feature, including old Reddit.</li>
 <li>Stopping annoying "Are you sure you want to leave this page?" alerts that interrupt your tab closing process.</li>
 <li>Giving you the choice to force links to open in the current tab instead of a new tab by removing the target="_blank" attribute from links.</li>
 <li>Alternatively, forcing links to open in a new tab instead of the current tab. This is particularly useful when navigating through lists of links.</li>
 <li>Ensuring images are brought to the front and allowing access to the contextual menu on websites that utilize transparent overlays, such as Instagram.</li>
 <li>Providing an alert when you exceed the maximum character limit in password fields or other text fields, preventing accidental character loss.</li>
 <li>Offering an "Edit Tab URL" feature that allows you to conveniently edit URLs in a larger editing field, complete with buttons for removing the query, copying the URL, or opening it.</li>
</ul>
